It’s an all star classic and we’re a big fan of the Chuck Taylors at Mosmann Australia. Few shoes have stopped time crossed all demographics loved by many and possibly hated too. Men’s shoe trends come and go, a resurgence in retro sneakers have made their way back to urban wear but will they last the test of time?
For almost a 100 years Chuck Taylor’s have reigned if not supreme – constant. So I was a little concerned when I caught wind of the Chuck Taylors II, is it finally the death of the classic all star as we know it, impossible right??
Thankfully and no doubt Converse were well aware of the adage if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Aesthetically it has remained much the same with improvements such as premium canvas with matching colour eyelets a much needed cushioned inner sole, perforated suede lining and padded tongue added to bring the comfort level up to today’s standards especially for it’s price point of $90.
Maintaining it's timeless design no doubt it will carry on for another century, and as much as I dig the character of my well-worn pair of white Chucks Taylors, this is welcome news and a perfect time for me to get a new set of tyres!
